5K Run and 1K Fun Run
Franklin Commons in Phoenixville
October 20, 2012
October will bring us a month of events and of Painting The Town Pink in Phoenixville!
“For Pete’s Sake, Let’s Paint the Town” is a collaboration in our community to help families in our area who are dealing with cancer.
For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS) and Phoenixville Health Care Access (PHCAF) are working together with staff from Phoenixville Hospital, students from Phoenixville Area High School, and other groups in town to raise awareness and funds that will support the uninsured and underinsured.
Events and activities in September and October 2012 will include:
Play for the Cure – Phoenixville High School Football Game on Friday, September 28, 2012.
Students and friends show their support of BC awareness, “pinking-out” the stadium and doing fundraising on site. There will be special tributes in programs and recognition at halftime for survivors.
Family Fun 5K Run and 1K Fun Run – Franklin Commons on October 20, 2012
The run will be at 9am and is for families, walkers and runners. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available for this event. All details, including online registration, can be found at the Paint The Town Pink website.
Paint the Town “Pink”
Phoenixville will be transformed during the month of October! Students will decorate the storefronts on Bridge Street in pink. There will be pink twinkling lights in all of the trees and in all available light fixtures. You will see “Change is Good” Piggybanks at area merchant’s cash registers where patrons can deposit their change to support FPS and PHCAF. Area merchants will sign up to be a part of a discount card program, offering patrons discounted or free items throughout the month of October.
